Posted on May 26, 2010 in Electric Vehicle, News, VolksWagen

Now there is some great news for the Chinese market as Volkswagen has developed its plan to launch its first ever vehicle, the Lavida that is especially designed and developed for the Chinese market. The new E-lavida would be launched semi independent of the German manufacturer but the company designers are trying to put Lavida in its Electric vehicle category. Volkswagen has named its new EV strategy as e-Mobility. The CEO of Volkswagen group china has went on to say that e-Mobility strategy is going to be a great boon for the locals of china. The entire production of its new BlueMotion technology is going to be given to two Chinese local automakers in a joint venture. The Volkswagen group of china has solely committed to offer energy saving, innovative and environment friendly technologies for the consumers in china. This is surely a good way out for a sustainable development.

The CEO of Volkswagen AG, Dr. Martin Winterkom rightly stated that their main goal as a company is to gain market leadership in e-Mobility by the year 2018. He declared that the Chinese market is very important to Volkswagen group and the e-mobility success in china is necessary for the global implementation of the e-mobility strategy.

If you are still wondering with the above statement, China being the most important market for Volkswagen, let me tell you its true. Volkswagen is one of the biggest overseas manufacturers of passenger cars in China and it was the first ever company to enter the Chinese market almost 3 decades ago. Volkswagen delivered over 1.4 million vehicles to Chinese market for the year 2009. The new e-Lavida is going to be tested soon in the Chinese market followed by its broader launch. For now, the second happy news is: Volkswagen E-Up is going to get launched in the year 2013.
